Mission Statement

“We invite families, nations and generations to experience God’s love and power.”

Our mission is what we do.  We are active in inviting all to experience the love of God and life in Jesus.  Life with God progresses through stages, each one better than the last as you accept his grace and allow yourself to be drawn deeper into love. God’s love is expressed in a series of delicate, gracious invitations. God has revealed himself through the Bible, the Church, and the supremely through His Son, Jesus Christ. As members of his Body, we invite others to share our experience with God.

Who do we invite?

When we say we invite nations, that means we invite all ethnic groups. We invite generations, meaning people of all ages, to join with us in worship.  Really, we invite everyone to join us as we love God and each other.

We continuously invite people to take the next step with God, His church, and His mission. We aim to be multicultural and inter-generational: inviting people from every race and religious background; and inviting all generations, to fellowship and minister together.  We invite people into experiences and encounters with the love and power of God. Teaching sound doctrine is both good and necessary, but it is not enough.

Experiences with God and His people change our perspective. By loving people right where they are, they become open to the supernatural power of God.  When people receive ministry at their point of need, they often experience God’s power and love. Often, it is then that they become open to teaching about who God is.  Teaching also communicates God’s love and power, for God’s Word is alive and active.

Connect, Grow, Go

We provide opportunities and encouragement for you to give God glory in every part of your life.  That is what disciples of Christ get to do: We glorify God and enjoy him forever!

The way we do this is our three-part WISE STRATEGY: Connect, Grow, Go!

Connecting is all about relationships.  You can belong before you believe. Ways to connect include individually through our personal prayer, Bible study; in our Sunday worship; attending events; We also connect with each other through close relationships, including Small Groups and mentoring relationships.  Some other ways to connect are in Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry, and through Pastoral Care.

Growing is about getting closer to God; becoming more conformed to the character of Jesus; learning of the content of the Faith once delivered to the saints, and how to apply that in our lives; and learning how to move in the power of the Holy Spirit, both in our own lives, and as we lead others.

Going means to de-emphasize our own personal concerns for affluence and personal peace, and to go and serve others with God’s love and power, both locally and globally.  We are called to be the light of the world in our homes, neighbourhoods, church, workplaces, and to the ends of the earth.

We see God creating an Acts 2 Church, the new Testament Church: a vital Christian community, where we live the life of the first church in Jerusalem.  E.g., we “devote ourselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles…”

A vision is a picture of a desired future.

We see:

  • Worship that honours God and welcomes His Presence among us.
  • A community that seeks, loves, and wins people who are far from God.
  • A community where absolutely anyone can find healing, deliverance, deep friendships, and purpose for life through Christ. Our heart desire is to bring healing, wholeness and freedom to broken lives and communities as we expect great things from God and attempt great things with God.
  • A community where people grow deeper in Christ through: Biblical teaching; smallgroups; healing prayer; mentoring and accountability relationships; and spiritual retreats.
  • A community that multiplies itself at every level – multiplying disciples, small groups, ministries, and congregations.
  • A community where each person can discover their God-given gifts and passion for ministry and find a satisfying and effective place of service. And
  • A community where people pray and seek holiness until God comes in transforming revival and changes our county.
  • A community of families that honour God – where couples build healthy marriages that reflect God’s design, and for parents to raise their children according to morals and values grounded in biblical principles.

What We Believe

The Lordship of Christ

We declare that Jesus is Lord. He is Lord over our individual lives, the life of each Church, and the life of the whole world.

The Authority of the Bible

We affirm that the Bible is the only true, infallible, and authoritative Word of God because its writers were inspired by His Spirit, giving it a divine authority to guide both what we believe and how we live our lives.

Baptism for Believers

Baptism by immersion is a symbolic act that represents death to self and the beginning of new life in Christ. The New Testament makes it clear that baptism is for those who believe and are prepared to declare him as Lord and want to declare him so publicly with immersion into water.

Outpouring of The Holy Spirit (Baptism of fire!)

We believe in the manifest power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life and minister in supernatural power. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit according is poured out on believers that we might have power to be supernatural witnesses of the Lord Jesus. Holy Spirit Baptism is usually after conversion. Every believer is given at least one of all the spiritual gifts, including prophecy, healing, and tongues, for edification and for the work of ministry.

A Believers’ Church

The Church is a community of believers gathered together in the name of Jesus Christ for worship, teaching, witness and service. Prayer and praise are central to these services as well listening and reflecting on Scripture and share Communion with one another.

The Priesthood of all Believers

We believe that everyone has a part in Wiseseed Church and can use their God-given talents to make the church and the community better. These skills include teaching, evangelism, social action, prayer healing or taking part in worship. Finally, it is our responsibility to take care of those who need hospitality, so they feel welcome during their time of transition.

Church Members and Church Meetings

When a person is baptised in a Wiseseed Church, they normally become a Church member. Church members are called to prayerfully discern God’s will for their shared life. Final authority does not rest with the ministers, deacons or any other local, national or international body, but with the members’ meeting together under God’s guidance. Church meetings make significant appointments, including ministers, and agree financial policy and mission.

Wiseseed Ministries believes that churches should not live in isolation from one another but rather work together to uplift and empower each other. Our partner churches are linked regionally, nationally, and internationally for support and fellowship.

Sharing the Faith

Wiseseed Ministries believe that each Christian has a duty to share their faith with others. We recognise that mission is not just evangelism, but also includes promoting justice, social welfare, healing education and peace in the world.

Who we are can be explained by what is important to us. Strategies may change, but values don’t.

We love God, our family, each other, and all our neighbours – and we act on it.

The Bible is our infallible authority in faith and life.

We emphasize personal conversion to Jesus as Lord, and holiness of life.

We welcome and embrace the manifest presence and power of the Holy Spirit.

We equip each other for mission and support each other in prayer.

We value authenticity, flexibility, humour, and respect in our life together.
